Lotte Andersen, (b.1989) Lives and works in London.
Working in video, print, cloth, sound and performance, pleasure seekers and human behaviour are invited into the work. She is interested in reimagining club spaces, using her acclaimed and now defunct night MAXILLA as the primary research. Here she developed a coarse, handmade visual language, making prints and publications, critiquing online culture. She constructs controlled social environments (capture parties) using audio stimuli to investigate group dynamics. Her installation Dance Therapy, first commissioned in 2017 by Cairo Clarke, as part of the Touch Sensitive residency at Yinka Shonibare’s Guest Projects, has since been shown 3 times (one solo at V3) culminating in a to a 5 channel installation. Lotte’s work has been featured in British Vogue, iD, Nowness, Dazed, Refinery 29, Twin and The Guardian whilst working for brands such as Stella Mccartney, Nike, Adidas, Mira Mikati, Eurotic and Vans. She has held artist talks at the V&A, Tate Modern and Bold Tendencies. As an art director she most notably launched StellaSport as Editor and Art Director for Stella Mccartney. She considers the body as an ever changing site for joy and resistance.
